Australian Cattle Dog (Blue/Red Heeler) Rehoming and Rescue Service

This page is dedicated specifically for Australian Cattle dogs (blue or red heelers) bred by Mageela Kennels that are looking for a new home or need to be rescued from institutional care. As dogs become available and/or known to us they may be listed on this page with their photo and a brief history. (Please note at this point in time we can only list dogs bred by Mageela due to time constraints)

Mageela ACD’s are bred to be companion dogs and make excellent companions. Some of the dogs listed below may only be accustomed to being solely a companion dog, some may be used to a “family home with children environment”. Some dogs may require training right from the basics and some dogs may be “ready to go”. We will endeavour to list each dog’s known suitability and attributes in the “brief history” description.

Lots of care, attention and training each day, being allowed inside the house, safe secure fencing and gates, and a loving environment is what each of these dogs below are looking for at their new home.

If you are seeking to accept an older cattle dog as a new companion into your home and if you see a dog below that might interest you please call Joy on 9455 1435.

Bluey

November 2020: Bluey is a 6-7 month old cattle dog pup looking for a forever home. Bluey has a beautiful temperament, is very well behaved and is very social with people other dogs but unfortunately Bluey is completely deaf. Bluey understands a couple of very basic hands signals and is now ready for a home that has previous experience with raising a young deaf dog and that would welcome a deaf pup into their lives with open arms. Bluey has been raised with another young dog that has hearing, ideally Bluey's new home would have an older female dog that would help show Bluey the ropes as he settles in. Enquiries to Mitch by email please

Jax

March 2020: Jax is a lovely boy who came to us for rehoming a couple of years ago. We have watched Jax turn into a very loving and very social dog with both humans and other dogs in the right environment, but can be nervous and unsure of himself in the wrong environment. Jax would excel as a "one on one" dog and would reward you with absolute devotion and protection especially with a single stay at home lady, or might fit very well as a second dog in the right home. Jax is about 4 and a half years old, is a tall cattle dog, is desexed, microchipped, wormed and vaccinated. Enquiries to Mitch by email please.

Missy

February 2020: Missy is a lovely young girl coming up to being one year old. She is quite small in stature, has a great nature (soft and outgoing) and is only too willing to please. Missy did have a home or two to go to in the past, but due to both prospective homes falling through to changes in their circumstances Missy never left, and I haven't got round to finding a home for her since, until now. Missy is fully vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, very social with humans, social with other dogs, and has an excellent temperament. Will need some lead and house training. Would suit experienced cattle dog owners or fit in very nicely as a companion for another cattle dog. Enquiries to Mitch by email please. Update April 2020: Missy has been successfully rehomed.

Young Adult Dogs

On rare occasions we have adolescent to young adult dogs that have been bred and cared for by ourselves available to be rehomed. These dogs are generally six to nine months old. Availability of these pups is usually by enquiry only. At present we have one of these pups available to go to a new home. For further information please phone Joy on 9455 1435.
